insurance ncb on 2 cars!?

right, ive got 1years no claims bonus and ive used it on the policy on my low but now ive bought another car and need to insure it, im aware that hic do second car cover BUT if i could get it cheaper would i be able to use my NCB again for a second policy?

ive had 2 seperate policies before but never had any NCB hence my new dilemma!!!

anyone know?

edit... ive been qouted £200 by one company using my NCB but without it the cost nearly triples!!!
if it breaks, it breaks, and if it aint broke, dont fix it!

I think you need one of these multi-car policies; not heard of anyone applying NCB to two cars at once before..  Might be worth checking if you can get a driver policy though; I think a-plan are quite good at that, some of my mates have insurance for a road car and a track car through them which Im pretty sure takes into account the NCB on both, although there might be some random clause like at any time, one of the cars must be garaged or something..

If you had numerous years of ncb i think you can split it. i.e with 5 years you could have 3 years on one car and 2 years on another.

you can only use 1 year on one policy though, so you'll want a second car on your existing policy to be able to use it. shouldn't be overly expensive though, afterall you can only drive one at a time so mileage shouldn't be excessive.

The policy for my Merc I have with HIC doesnt require a NCB .BTW my renewal has gone up about £50 this year!

I have 4 cars insured with Footman james in Birmingham
They will only let me use NCB on 1 car but give me a multicar discount
Have to say they have been good and cheap & ive used them for approx 10 Years  :shock:

hic mirror your ncb. so if you've got 1yr ncb on one policy they will match that on the next one..... well they do for me :) doubt they would for you, how did you manage to get 1 yrs ncb anyway pete!!
