Tighting spokes on wire wheels?

i have a set of standard offset 17" wires and im unsure how often to check the spokes and then how to check them and then how to tighten them if loose.
any help much appreciated

a very small spanner on the square nipple to tighten, and put some washer bottle tube over the spoke and hold the spoke with some pointed mole grips. when you start turning the nipple you will break the bead sealer so you will have to dig it out and re-seal with sikaflex.  hope this helps..

there shouldn't be many of them loose, and as far as i am aware, it shouldn't matter what order as they are straight laced not crossed like on bikes.  as you have got no air or juice to throw the balance out from throwing the car about you will probably only need to get the wheels balanced once. and it will more than likely take a fair few sticky lead weights on the inside to get them true.  i had mine done..then could have had them re done week after week as they are pretty flexible wheels.
  just run a screw driver around all of the spokes and when the ching sound changes, you should find the loose ones....as far as checking them..you will probably get a tell tale squeak from 1 or 2 of them as you roll slowly...this is what i have found on mine over the past few years.  then just mark the loose ones with tip-ex so you don't loose them again. I think loose spokes are not exactly common but more commen on the larger of the wire wheel range from 17's up.
