How about we build a tool library..............
« on: August 17, 2009, 10:33:08 PM »
to aid all new and repeat builders ?

I have donated my hard line bender and flare tool, Rus has it at the moment [along with a bag of ferrules and ends]. When he's used it he will pass it on as requested.

Anyone else have anything ?

bit short on entries here !!

another thing I can offer is inspection.
As you know my time is very limited but i would be happy to cast an eye over your installation to see if I can see potential faults or problems.
You will need to travel to me...................

i have a hydraulic crimp tool for cable ends, bring your cable and crimps and ill do them for you, you can borrow but break it and replace, and i may need it back fairly soon.

could do with knocking up a hardline once russ is done
if it breaks, it breaks, and if it aint broke, dont fix it!

tru-rydaz lowrider cc, still strong and gettin stronger

Have you thought about Swagelok fittings jon.
I used to use them on my Harverters, dead easy to fit and Stainless if you want them. Self containes lovking system with no flairing.

i had a brochure come through for these, Staúf are also doing a similar looking connector but stainless prices seem to be through the roof ! I have heard you can get away with a 45' flare instead of a 37' flare which brings the cost of the tooling right down, i was even thinking of buying a 45' and machining a replacement 37' die to go in it !!!

what we have to do eh ?

Hey there,

Well i have managed to source all the tools myself now so i'm in no rush, i was hoping to get it all done by Bugjam but i only managed to find a 37' flare tool at a reasonable price last week and wont have time now.

Its all cool, thanks for the offer of bringing it along to BugJam but put beer in the car instead !

Cheers.
