The only thing holding the cylinder in place is the weight of the car?

.............. and the cap of the power ball.
Safe when its new but it wont stay that way for long on UK roads and i doubt it would pass an mot after a couple of months use.
looks like a McPh rather than a Chapman ?  I wouldn't want to drive on it if it is and I certainly wouldn't sell it to someone for road use.

but then Yanks would think it was fine...............................

i would guess its just skimmed a bit to fit in the tube.
that's an improvement on the first one which just looks like its dropped in the tube.

if you are trying to find a quicker way to replace McPh units with hydro units, there isn't one.............there is only one way to do it and that's to do it right.
