ok so we jacked it up and took wheel off to find this...

this is on the car...

so this has snapped off due to being welded by micky mouse and his gang,
it needs welding back on by a welder :)

but...

due to that snapping off its bent the hydraulic hose...

so thats where the fluid pissed from!

i dont know if its possible to tell from my shit pictures but has anyone any idea what set up this is or who might have done it?

this is the car if it helps in identifying...

this is it feeling sorry for itself :(

from what ive heard the car was bought new or new ish from a dealer by jimmy, he then rolled it to somewhere to have the reds kit installed altho i dont know who, or in fact if any of this is true, jimmy looked after it, then sold it a few years back, went thro lots of hands which has probably led to its demise.

one of the boys up here runs a garage and we regularly have nights and weekends building/repairing/servicing lowriders for mates, we can supply new parts if neccesary and if we have them in stock but im sure we can get it working something like until we know what it needs so we or you can get everything ordered.

ill pm you my number bro.

so my assumption is that the ram is actually OK and the "guts" is just an oil leak from the hose/fitting ?

My recommendation would be to redo the welds all round [or at least check them well and grind out/reweld as needed].

The setup is undoubtedly home made. The play is required as the ram bottom will move through an arc as the suspension  moves. Possibly there isn't enough play and that is why the weld has fractured.

yeah when i said guts i ment fluid, i hope the ram is ok! im getting it welded back on tomorrow!
i need a new end putting back on the hose now! then i should be cooking with gas!
how do i bleed this up?

i thing it was a pretty bumpy road that broke the weld, should i expect that kinda damage every time i go over a bump?
