My Mates dad wants to make a log splitter hes got a medium size hydraulic ram but its DUAL ACTING?

ive got a tipper pump lying around in my garage but its in and out of the same hole...?? can this be done??

yes, with a double acting spool valve.....................i have a feeling I've got one somewhere.

it will need a lot of battery power to keep it going for a reasonable number of logs..................

that would be handy if you have :D im sure he has someting sorted power wise for the pump im unsure yet think its like  a transformer thing
