bodyshop / car body painter recommendations...
« on: March 28, 2007, 08:04:56 AM »
anyone got any recommendations for a body shop? pref in the midlands, but willing to travel for a good reasonably priced job.

Ive got a couple of rust spots on my motor that need sorting out, and the bonnet needs respraying (too many stonechips for touching-in)

tried looking around, but no one has any sugestions; would rather base decision on recommendations than glossy web-sites and full-page adverts, so if anyone knows of a good one and has some contact details Id be grateful

Kustom Kolors in Christchurch, Dorset. Well worth the travel Catboy, trust me. Oh, and Col & Justin love lowriders - they've each built and owned a few. They are doing my 64 as we speak.

They do Porsches. Had a 356 in last time I went, plus a rather slammed Ghia. Didn't know you had a Porker?

I actually have a tin of paint, just dont have the balls to do it myself ;) plus its metalic so concerned if I lay into it with my ill-skills ill f**k it up completely

just needs a couple of rust spots sorting out and re-painting, plus might get the bonnet and front bumper done too; they are a bit "rashed" at the moment from tailgating gritter lorries :D

Nice, that's a 964 isn't it? Either way it's a late aircooled car before the shape went a bit weird and they started using water. Cool car.

1992 3.6 litre 964 C2 with some tasty options...  seam-welded, RS engine tweaks plus a bit (260bhp vs 240bhp + de-cat + cone filter), LSD, fully adjustable suspension (ride height, dampers for bump and rebound), RS rear suspension, etc., etc...

its the last but one model with the air cooled engine; the 993 that came after was also air cooled, and shared the same body shell...  up until that model they all had pretty much the same shell, which is great for finding parts!..

just got a couple of bits of rust (stone chips that have gone bad) one under the headlight, the other just behind the drivers door...   want to get them touched up before they get any worse
