Joysticks to switches
« on: April 08, 2007, 10:54:42 AM »
I'm after a little advice.

I'm not happy with the joysticks on the Honda.

Would it be easy enough for me to just run a home made 8 switch box, from these switches?

http://http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180102797352&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D180102797352%26fvi%3D1

And stick them in any electronics box and wire them up like this?

I imagine all 4 dumps and 2 pumps run to my existing joystick box anyway, so it's just a case of splitting the wires between the switches?

Or do I need special switches or am I missing something else completely?

Thanks in advanced.

All the wires you need to control the pumps and dumps you have will be accessible inside the switch box.

You will want sprung switches so the return them selfs to the 'off' position, and check the ampage they can handle against the way your system is wired.

What's wrong with the way the joystick system runs? I've always liked the way it looks and the fact it's different ;)

Yeah, what he said.

You can't really pump and dump at the same time, because the joystick can't be in two places at the same time.

Thanks for the advice, any idea where I can find proper switches?
I guess proper switches are in every electrical shop in the U.S and A, but probably a little harder to find over here.
